The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced via NSL Circular that the 2022/23 domestic season sets to commence on 6th of August with MTN8 competition, will see some changes in their schedule to accommodate the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, taking place from 21 November to 18 December.

The domestic season will take a halt two months later (from the 6th of November to 7th of January).

On the 12th of August the league Champions, Mamelodi Sundowns will open the DStv Premiership season, set to be concluded on 20 May, while GladAfrica Championship will start on 20 August 2022.
The Nedbank Cup final is expected to take place on the 27th of May 2023.

PSL players like Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori, who are selected to play at the World Cup, will be allowed to leave their clubs any time from November 14.
Ofori will be joining his already qualifying national team, Ghana in Qatar.
