With Banyana Banyana in preparation for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in July, at Morocco, the midfielder Kholosa Biyana is confident that the team will do better than they did previously.
South Africa took the silver medal in 2018 for the fifth time at Ghana and got to qualify for their maiden FIFA Women’s World Cup which was held in France.
The senior national team has been pitted against rivals, Nigeria, in Group C of the competition just like the last edition. Debutants Botswana and Burundi complete the group.
Biyana is confident the team will do well yet again.
“I think it’s not just about the pressure or anything. Everyone just want to achieve, like if you finish second the past year, you definitely want to finish in a better position this year. So it’s the motivation within us, not just the pressure, we want to do better than we did in the past edition” said Biyani.

Having missed the 2018 edition due to injury, the Banyana star has indicated that it will be a “great achievement” to make a return to the competition and help the team finish on the podium again.
The former University of KwaZulu Natal player has been playing her football in Spain since 2019 and she made it clear that that’s she set to settle with the European side as long as possible.
