Netball South Africa (NSA) have partnered with Hollywoodbets in a two-year deal which will focus on the development of the sport in the country. Although the two parties wouldn’t reveal the value, SABC Sport have it on good authority that the deal is worth R24 million.

Netball SA president, Cecilia Molokwane says is pleased with the new relationship: “it’s a very good partnership because this time around it’s not a title sponsor for something else, it’s something that say netball we are here whatever you need, wherever space you see your lacking get in there and do what you want to do”

Hollywoodbets Commercial Manager, Sandisiwe Bhengu explains the importance of the partnership with NSA: “ This partnership came about in many different ways, I think we started the conversation with Netball SA but at the same time we were getting a lot of request ummh from individual teams, players you know asking us for support when they have to go to the tournaments when they have to go out of the province or out of the country, so we Identify that there is a need for us to get involved in netball in South Africa and obviously we know there is a lot of talent, there is a lot of potential in that space and so we felt like the best way to do that is to actually get involved with a body that regulates and run you know the sport in the country in order for us to really understand what are some of the barres to entry in terms of the grassroots level you know especially in rural areas, what are some of the needs that exist because they are the expect when it comes to this court and we here to support them and work together”

Although KwaZulu-Natal has been hit with the devastating floods, NSA will still host the Telkom Netball League in Durban. Molokwane says the federation will contribute to the affected people in the province.
