About 13 teams are ready to take on to the court for this year’s Telkom Netball League season. The tournament will take place across two provinces over eight weeks. KwaZulu-Natal will host the opening week of the tournament from the 26th of April until the 1st of May while the Heartfelt Arena in Tshwane will host the remainder of the tournament from the 20th of May until the 19th of June.

Netball South Africa (NSA) president Cecilia Molokwane says she is excited about the new season: “Let’s have sport and entertainment going side by side we are from a depressing error as country whereby we have Covid and now not that we don’t have it, but at least it subside to what it used to be, so to me it’s about opening for fans, the fans coming to the stadium and cheering their teams the way they use to cheer them”

Defending champions’ wing defence, Melodine Jacobs is confident that the Gauteng team can defend their title for the fourth time in a row even though the team’s coaching staff has changed. Five times League winning coach, Jenny van Dyk has taken the role of Mentor Coach to Rozanne Mathys in the team.
