SA to compete against New Zealand for World Rugby bronze

South Africa will play New Zealand for the bronze medal at the World Rugby Under 20 Championships in France on Sunday.

The Junior Springboks lost a closely fought semi-final against England, 32-31. Junior Springboks coach Chean Roux was a disappointed man after his young team had fought back from a poor start, where they were 19-nil down at one stage.

“We’ve got exciting backs and we tried to get it wider but every time we tried to get it wider we spilled it or made mistakes, when as a team we decided to try to keep it with the forwards I thought they played brilliantly, the line-outs, the mauls. Tremendous character by the team and you know they’ll learn from it and it’ll help them in the future.”
